Speaking of Oscar Wilde and the Wasp

from the Wasp, about Oscar Wilde's visits
One wonders seeing this whether Oscar Wilde read Moliere's 1673 "Imaginary Invalid." We watched a production years ago and the "Beautiful Heliotrope" was mentioned many times.

What was the heliotrope flower in French? Heliotropium which apparently the Greeks named? Or the sunflower which exhibits heliotripism? When did the sunflower make it to the Old World? "Sunflower seeds were brought to Europe from the Americas in the 16th century"

Needs some further research!
